Construction on dog park begins in MWC
Dog lovers in Midwest City will soon be able to take their four-legged friends to a place designed with them in mind.
City leaders recently announced the construction of a two acre area, just west of Joe B. Barnes Regional Park, to become the city's official dog park.
Officials say a black vinyl-coated chain link fence and two concrete pads will be added to the area.
The park is estimated to cost around $149,000 and will be funded by a sales tax for parks and recreation.
Authorities believe the park will be open to visitors this summer.
